Book Title:

Legacy By James Kerr

Why I chose it: Recommended by Mark Piscopo a friend and fellow TAASCian, as reading relevant to my dissertation MSC in sports psychology.

What I especially liked about it: The story of the All Blacks - who are probably the most successful team in the history of rugby and possibly sports. It is a story on the effect of shared leadership within a team and how having common core values can result in pulling together as one team under one flag. This book has been the inspiration for many other organizations, football teams to Tier 1 special forces units, through Wall Street via Tokyo and Munich to as far as a small primary school in the Yorksire Dales. The values which resonated with me included the importance of 'learning to sweep the sheds' and the core idea of the legacy is 'to leave the jersey in a better place''. This inspirational book provides effective models for leaders in all fields. It reminds us; this is our time.
