Clinical Psychology
Clinical psychology is an integration of science, theory and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. Clinical Psychology focuses on the intellectual, emotional, biological, social, and behavioural aspects of human functioning across the life span, in varying cultures, and at all socioeconomic levels.
A clinical psychologist provides professional services for the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment and prevention of psychological, emotional, psychophysiological and behavioural disorders across the lifespan. These services include procedures for understanding, predicting, and alleviating intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological distress, social and behavioural maladjustment, and mental illness, as well as other forms of discomfort. In addition, clinical psychology includes services for the enhancement of functioning in all of these areas.

Counselling Psychology
Counselling psychology focuses on how people function both personally and in their relationships. Psychologists in this fieldwork with children and adults to addresses the social, emotional, physical, school/work concerns people may have (e.g. bereavement, mental health problems, relationships) and aim to explore the underlying causes. These can be issues that people may struggle with as individuals or as a part of families, organisations and groups. The psychologist’s role would be to help people to alleviate feelings of distress, improve their sense of well‐being, and resolve crises. This branch of psychology is unique in its attention to typical developmental issues as well as problems associated with physical, mental and emotional disorders.

Educational Psychology
Educational Psychology is a branch of psychology dealing with the struggles faced by children, young people and their families in educational and community settings, related to learning difficulties, social and emotional problems, disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Educational Psychologists make use of different modalities of work such as interviews, observations, assessments and psychological intervention with patients, including consultation, guidance and support not only to the patients themselves but also school personnel and educators, parents and the wider community. Neuropsychology
Clinical neuropsychology is a speciality that applies principles of assessment and intervention based upon the scientific study of human behaviour as it relates to normal and abnormal functioning of the central nervous system. The speciality is dedicated to enhancing the understanding of brain-behaviour relationships and the application of such knowledge to human problems.
A clinical neuropsychologist is a professional within the field of psychology with special expertise in the applied science of brain-behaviour relationships. Clinical neuropsychologists use this knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and/or rehabilitation of patients across the lifespan with neurological, medical, neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions, as well as other cognitive and learning disorders. Such conditions include, but are not limited to, genetic abnormalities, congenital problems, traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumours, central nervous system infections, exposure to toxic substances, metabolic diseases, and degenerative diseases of the brain.
A clinical neuropsychologist uses psychological, neurological, cognitive, behavioural, and physiological principles, techniques and tests to evaluate patients’ neurocognitive, behavioural, and emotional strengths and weaknesses and their relationship to normal and abnormal central nervous system functioning. The clinical neuropsychologist uses this information and information provided by other medical/healthcare providers to identify and diagnose neurobehavioral disorders and plan and implement intervention strategies. In addition, neuropsychologists play a critical role in educating patients and families about neurological, psychological, and neuropsychological conditions.

Health Psychology
Health Psychology is aimed towards improving psychological well-being in relation to physical, social and emotional factors. Psychologists within this field seek to explore these factors and the way they interact with each other in a therapeutic manner. Health psychologists may tackle a multitude of concerns such as issues related to pain, illness, physical and emotional distress including adjustment to a diagnosis and behaviour change interventions (e.g., coping with a chronic condition, recovering from illness, promoting a healthy lifestyle). The role of the psychologist would be to help people learn how to deal with these issues while looking into the underlying factors of ineffective behaviours or illness. This branch of psychology helps to facilitate people’s understanding of themselves and their concerns by focusing on the relationship between physical and mental health and how they are connected with one another.
