Specialty Doctor with an interest in Psychiatry

We are on the lookout for a trained and non-judgmental Specialty Doctor with an interest in Psychiatry to join our growing team of professionals. 


The successful candidate will be expected to: 

  • Assess patients with various mental health difficulties, including psychiatric and general medical care

  • Regularly review and conduct assessments of risk and develop patient management strategies

  • Develop appropriate care plans to meet each patient’s individual needs

  • Arrange physical investigations, ensure that the results are obtained and interpret them within the limits of your competence

  • Liaise with other health professionals as required in relation to both psychiatric and physical health care and refer as necessary

  • Support all consultants to provide high-quality services to our patients

  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and other clinical reviews of all patients

  • Communicate and liaise with patients' relatives and carers

  • Contribute to clinical audit and service evaluation

  • Attend mandatory training sessions, as required by TAASC

  • Participate in continuing professional development and remain in good standing for CPD with the relevant professional bodies

What we offer

Flexibility. We do set a target number for all clinicians to reach monthly, but how and when you see your clients is in your control. While the most common setting is within the TAASC clinic space, we also offer online sessions which can be carried out from the comfort of your home. 

Involvement. Although no longer a start-up, we are still constantly looking for ways to improve and grow. Take ownership of your tasks and get involved with your suggestions. 

Learning opportunities. It’s great if you’re someone who likes learning on the job, but we also offer regular training sessions for our team. Guidance and support will also be offered by the whole team of professionals.

Requirements: 

  • Have experience of working with a diverse range of mental health disorders

  • Hold a valid registration with the Medical Council of Malta

  • Excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Fluent in English
