Ms Lucia Buhagiar - Speech Language Pathologist/Dance Movement Psychotherapist

Lucia Buhagiar graduated from the University of Malta with a B.Sc (Hons) in Communication Therapy in 2019. In 2020, she also received Elklan training in the course ‘Let's talk with Under Fives'.

Lucia has always shown an interest in the performing arts; being involved in dance, music and theatre over many years. During her undergraduate studies she demonstrated an enthusiasm to amalgamate her passion for the arts with speech and language therapy, leading her to write her dissertation on the effect of dance and movement on the language development of young children with language delay. Her findings, paired with her desire to move beyond traditional practices, led her to develop her private practice at TAASC by working on communication needs and difficulties (in both individual and group session) through the use of dance and movement. Lucia has also delivered therapy in schools.

In September 2020, Lucia moved to London to pursue her Masters degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, whilst maintaining her speech therapy practice in Malta when visiting. Since finishing her degree, she is still based in London however still works at TAASC, particularly over the summer months.
