Mr Mark Bonello - Counsellor

After completing his Master’s in Counselling at the University of Edinburgh, Mark returned home and began working as a warranted Counsellor within the Foundation for Social Welfare Services at the start of 2021. His experience studying and living abroad played a significant role in his personal and professional growth, shaping him into the therapist he aspired to become. He currently provides individual therapy for adults, both in person and online, with a particular interest in online therapy—a field that gained prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mark’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Existentialism and Rogerian theory, emphasizing the humanistic aspect of therapy. He believes this perspective helps make the therapeutic process feel less overwhelming for clients, even when they face significant challenges. Known for his sympathetic nature and easy-going demeanor, he creates a calming and understanding environment that encourages open conversation and fosters strong therapeutic relationships.

Beyond his professional work, Mark has a deep interest in games and gaming, both tabletop and digital, and their potential to support personal growth. His Master’s thesis explored this connection, reinforcing his belief that gaming can offer valuable insights into human nature, self-discovery, and identity development.
