Mr Giovanni Colonna - Counsellor
Giovanni Colonna is a warranted Counsellor and a member of the Malta Association for the Counselling Profession.
Giovanni dedicated his professional life to mental health care and recovery support. He worked in Italy, UK, and Malta as caseworker and manager in residential community services for over ten years. His commitment towards valuing the clients’ lived experience always defined his continuous professional development.
He was awarded the degree of Master in Counselling with Distinction at the University of Malta in 2024 and practiced counselling in various community, educational, and NGO settings. He investigated the nature of the counsellor’s acceptance as a core therapeutic condition.
Giovanni offers counselling to youngsters, adolescents, and adults, with an approach grounded in person-centred and psychodynamic principles of practice. Bringing the client’s experience at the centre of the therapeutic relationship, Giovanni is interested in nurturing his clients’ self-awareness and potential towards emotional growth and healing.
