Veronica Montanaro studied Communication Therapy at undergraduate level at the University of Malta. Upon receiving her degree she worked as Speech and Language Pathologist with a local NGO and the Disability Support Unit at the University of Malta. From 2008 till 2015, she worked with the Speech and Language Department (SLD).
Ms Montanaro was awarded an M.Sc in Language and Communication Impairments in Children with the University of Sheffield in 2014. Her research study: ‘Young Children and iPads: A Developmental Perspective’, focused on young children and their use of touchscreen technology. In the same year, she set up an information page called APPropriate that provides information about suitable touchscreen applications for children.
Ms Montanaro also contributed her skills as part of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (also known as COST Action), a professional network currently working on a research project entitled Play for Children with Disability. She was a committee member of the Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH).
Ms Veronica forms part of Management & is the Lead Speech and Language Pathologist
Veronica is trained to administer: the SOS Feeding Approach, ADOS; Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk; Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS); Nuffield: Dyspraxia, Communication Mats, PODD, and; Lis 'n' Tell: Inclusive Story-Telling. She is also an Elklan Certified Tutor.
