Ms Franica Cassar graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) in 2009, and then in 2014 graduated with a Master of Psychology in Counselling Psychology at the University of Malta. Ms. Cassar also attended training in Gestalt Psychotherapy with the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute of Malta. Ms Cassar worked in a school, in residential homes for boys, with refugees, with children suffering from terminal illness, with people experiencing domestic violence and with people suffering a mental health problem such as depression, social anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. Due to the work background, Ms. Cassar includes various approaches and techniques like play therapy techniques, attachment approach, trauma approach and CBT. She is also trained in conducting psychological assessments. As a Counselling psychologist, Ms. Cassar’s method of work is to provide a space to the clients where they can feel accepted, respected and genuinely cared for. She believes that therapy is a journey where the clients discover themselves. Thus, she does her utmost to be wherever the clients are and walk with them in that moments. Ms Cassar forms part of the TAASC team wherein her role entails providing psychotherapy to clients, as well as conducting assessments.
