Ms Martina Aquilina -

Play Therapist

Specializes in therapeutic play with children and adolescents experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties

Ms Martina Aquilina graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy & Psychology and a Higher Diploma in Psychology, before beginning specialised training in play therapy, accredited by Play Therapy International and Leeds Beckett University in the UK. Martina is in possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Practice-Based Play Therapy and a Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills.

While furthering her studies both locally and abroad, Martina gained experience working with children and adolescents with additional support needs in schools and residential settings. She also has experience working therapeutically with children and adolescents experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Martina’s role in TAASC is to provide play therapy sessions to children and adolescents to help them understand their experiences, increase emotional resilience and develop coping strategies while decreasing problematic behaviours and internalized conflicts.
